Weald of Kent

Covering the towns of Sevenoaks, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells

Weald of Kent

The Weald of Kent in the south west of the county is one of the most picturesque areas of England with its soft rounded, rolling chalk hills intersected by irregular patches of forest, copse and hedgerow. The Weald boasts a wealth of attractive rural villages and beauty spots and if you like a relaxing, no stress break with the opportunity to enjoy leisurely country walks, visit local vineyards and taste the excellent wines or perhaps stroll around world famous stately homes and gardens then the Weald is most definitely not to be missed…at any time of the year!

The Weald is also a little known paradise for golfers who appreciate parkland courses. Surrounded by stunning scenery, many of the Weald’s courses will provide a real test for any golfer given their undulating, tree lined fairways and greens. Golf here in autumn or winter can be a truly memorable experience. Many of the Weald courses welcome visitors without restriction and have all the facilities you would expect from well-established courses.

Although a predominantly rural area the Weald boasts a huge number of superb historic country pubs and restaurants with the emphasis firmly placed on local produce, beers and wines while picturesque Wealden towns such as Tenterden and Royal Tunbridge Wells have excellent shopping, dining and leisure facilities.

North Downs

Covering the towns of Rochester, Ashford, Folkestone and Dover

North Downs

The North Downs form the central spine of Kent running northwest from the English Channel at Folkestone up to the outskirts of London and the Thames estuary. The Downs although similar in character to the Weald are surrounded by Kent’s largest towns, historic Rochester and Chatham in the north, Maidstone, Kent’s county town in the West, Ashford, Folkestone and Dover in the south and last but certainly not least the historic city of Canterbury in the East. So, whilst you can enjoy the tranquillity and views from the Downs golf courses you will also not be far from the bright lights and facilities of Kent’s main towns.

Golf in and around the North Downs is challenging and offers a truly varied golfing experience for the adventurous player.

So, if you’re looking for a break that gives you the best of all worlds, golf in a variety of superb settings and the ability to easily access Kent’s larger towns and tourist attractions and the added advantage of fast motorway and public transport links into London and to the continent then this is the break for you.

Foreland

Covering the towns of Canterbury, Margate, Ramsgate, Sandwich and Deal

Foreland

The eastern quarter of Kent where the Romans first landed in Britain has a long and imposing coastline. This is White Cliffs country where the charms of the Victorian seaside resorts of Folkestone, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and Margate still attract many visitors. With historic Canterbury close by the Thanet area of Kent is self contained and although fairly flat it more than makes up for this with the quality of its golf courses for this is links and seaside golf heaven.

If you are serious about links and seaside golf then the area between North Foreland at Broadstairs and South Foreland near Dover boasts what is undoubtedly the finest collection of links and seaside courses in the UK outside of Scotland. From the 13 times open Championship venue of Royal St Georges at Sandwich to the North Foreland course perched on the cliffs at Broadstairs to the tricky and challenging seaside course of Littlestone on Romney Marsh there is enough fascinating and challenging golf to keep even the most ardent seaside golfer happy.

The Foreland package is not however only about links golf. There are several top quality inland courses around Canterbury, which make for a very interesting alternative to all that sea air.

This being a coastal package don’t forget the superb seafood on offer all around the Kent coast from Whitstable oysters to Dover sole.
