The Golf Courses in Kent

Kent is home to over 90 golf courses.

These include the world famous Open Championship links course of Royal St George’s at Sandwich, which last hosted the event in 2003. Royal St George’s was also the first ever course to host the Open outside of Scotland, in 1894. Quite a compliment given the reputation of Scotland’s world famous links courses. Kent is also home to the highly acclaimed Chart Hills course designed by Nick Faldo as well as a superb selection of links, parkland and downland courses across the county that will challenge any golfer no matter their handicap.

Think you could drive the green at one of Europe’s longest holes, the 644yd 17th at Hever Castle? Then why not give it a go. Could you get round Leeds Castle without losing several balls in the moat? Why not find out? Like to test your skills in a bit of a breeze then why not play North Foreland on the cliffs at Broadstairs? Low handicapper who likes a challenge? Then why not play Royal St George’s, home to the Open 13 times but only on two of those occasions has the winner managed to beat par over 72 holes. And there’s more …much more! Golf in Kent is nothing if not varied.

Green fees range from around £20 at some of the more rural, but no less challenging courses, to over £100 for 18 holes at the awesome Royal St George’s. There are of course lots of options to suit all types of player ranging from small, challenging 9 hole courses to a 27 hole marathon and for the kids and non-golfers we can arrange lessons, a pitch and putt session or a few baskets on the driving range.

During the busy holiday periods some courses do specify times when visitors are able to play and a few do require handicap certificates but in the main most local rules are flexible and not very onerous. We will of course notify you of any specific restrictions or temporary rules which might apply during your visit.

If you like a range of golfing challenges, appreciate playing in beautiful and varied surroundings and enjoy an active social life then Invicta Golf is the website for you. Contact us now for further information.
