Leisure Activities
Whatever your interests outside golf we can guarantee that Kent has something to offer you.
At Invicta we can arrange visits to world famous country homes and gardens such as Leeds Castle and Sissinghurst, vineyard and brewery tours, fly fishing, heritage railway trips, days out at world-renowned wild animal parks, beautiful country walks and cycleways, balloon trips, paintballing, sailing and windsurfing, unbeatable shopping trips and superb tours of historic properties. If that isn’t enough the heady attractions of London are only a short journey away but if that’s not for you then not why not just relax with a glass of acclaimed Kent wine or one of our outstanding Kentish beers and a home cooked meal at one of hundreds of historic country inns.
Although Kent is still largely a rural county it has some indisputably urban attractions. Bluewater, near Dartford is one of Europe’s biggest and best shopping malls with over 300 top of the range shops, 40 cafes, bars and restaurants, a 13 screen cinema and a crazy golf course if you really can’t go 24 hours without hitting a golf ball. Bluewater has been built in a stunning landscaped quarry and attracts around 27 million shoppers every year. Proof positive that shopaholics will not be disappointed.
Alternatively why not have a day out in historic Canterbury with it’s world famous cathedral and mediaeval streets or visit Dover Castle with it’s fascinating wartime tunnels. Perhaps you’d prefer a visit to either Port Lympne or Howletts wild animal parks with their world famous gorilla and other endangered species breeding programmes. If you love wildlife these are definitely not to be missed.
If you’re adventurous and can’t resist the lure of the Continent only 22 miles away then why not take a day trip by ferry, channel tunnel or even air from Lydd airport to destinations such as le Touquet on the Cote d’ Opale with its beautiful beaches, superb seafood and popular casinos. We can also arrange golf trips to several superb courses on the north French coast.
If you’re a sports buff and enjoy watching or taking part in other sports Kent has it covered, everything from top class cricket to river and sea fishing, sailing, cycling, bowling, gliding, paintball…the list is endless. For football fans there’s Kent’s only top-flight football team, Gillingham. Or, if your wallet can take the strain there is always a Premiership game or other major sporting event taking place somewhere in London.
For culture vultures Kent has a range of theatres and venues such as the Marlowe theatre in Canterbury that provide a year round choice of music, drama and family entertainment. If however your artistic tastes are a bit more esoteric then London’s museums, galleries and theatres are amongst the best in the world.
If you’re having trouble deciding what you would like to do on your visit to Kent or need a bit more information then why not give us a ring or drop us an e-mail. We’ll be more than happy to provide you with some expert guidance and advice. We’re here to help.
